Honor 6X Review: Minimal & Premium Design.

Previously Honor 5X was a quality budget phone with all metal body. This time Huawei just enhanced the levels with Honor 6X. It has a smooth metal body with the plastic antenna signal receivers. They are blend with the shape of the metal body. Even you won’t feel any differences.

As, It has a standard 5.5-inch screen, LED notification light, earpiece, sensor and camera on the front top.

The finest thing about Honor 6X is the sides are not sharp; you won’t feel point in the edges as they are curvy. On the right, there are volume rockers, power button. On the back, there are two cameras, led light, a fingerprint sensor. On the top, there are 3.5mm jack & secondary noise-cancelling microphone. At the bottom, there is a primary mic, speakers and USB port. And at last, we have sim slot on the left of the smartphone. The main feature in this smartphone is the dual camera. This device is available in silver, gold and grey colour.

Honor 6X is compact as well as it has few impressive software integrations. If we put the large size on board it has multi-window and single handed mode into it, which is quite handy. It is a slightly heavy phablet but according to size; It’s compact and convenient.

The design is simple and sleek. It has mostly everything premium. If you are comfortable with this kind of smartphones, then you are going to love this one. So far, it is the best looking mid-range smartphone we have seen from a long time.

The Honor 6X is powerful. Huawei’s Kirin 655 processor powers the phone along with 3/4GB of RAM. This processor stands against of Snapdragon 650 which states no lag and a good smooth experience. It got around 57000 AnTuTu score which is not bad for a mid-ranger. The multi-tasking is decent. It can load 15-20 applications easily in one go without any lags.

This device has the 32gb storage, and you can choose the other options too. However, for a base model you will get 3gb/32gb ram/storage. Gaming is good though it is a mid-range smartphone, it runs mostly every game smoothly.

If we look into battery, it has a 3,340mAh battery which easily lasts for a day with heavy usage. It offers a good battery life rest it depends on the UI optimisations too. The disadvantage here is; there is no quick charge for this smartphone.

Honor 6X Review: UI is just; So far, So Good.

It comes with EMUI which is similar to MIUI runs over the Android 6.0. Soon it will get the taste of 7.0 according to Huawei’s CES presentation. It’s customizable; more features means fewer optimisations. We wish if Huawei can make more light over skins. However, EMUI is fine, but Geeks look for light OS with significant features.

We are the fan of stock Android means the pure stock that Google pushes every year. EMUI is more likely the rebirth of OS with a ton of features. We missed the native call recording feature in it. You can use the fingerprint sensor for many things like; to take a photo, answer a call, show your notification panel, or browse through photos.

The Camera is Mindblowing; Huawei Honor 6X

Huawei made a trend of using the dual camera setup in its smartphones. After Honor 8, they added to a mid-ranger too. It has the specific bokeh effect, manual mode, manual video mode and lot of modes to test.

What about the Updates?

The Huawei’s Honor 6X will get future updates as it has the latest December Android update. 6X is running on Android 6.0, but the company says that it will be updated to Android Nougat by Q2, 2017. So, there is no need to worry about the updates of this smartphone.
